| Scary Coraline Trailer |
[Jan. 23rd, 2009|02:26 pm] |
Here's a trailer I actually WANT to share! The first one was a horrible representation of the film, especially for people who love the book. (I made the fish in the first shot shown here).

| Still working on the movie! |
[Sep. 3rd, 2007|08:43 am] |
I'm still crazy busy working on this movie, but I've been getting really into dollies lately. I'm at work for 11 hours + 3 hours of commute, so I'm really tired, usually. I missed the big Portland dolly meet because I had to work on a Saturday. This production doesn't end until May. It's been good for me, though. It's kinda like I've joined a tribe.
So since I'm working more than I ever have in my life, I'm earning more money than I'm used to and it's really hard not to spend it on the weekends. My Kenner lust is really bad, but I've stuck to my rule that I can't have one until my debt is fully paid. I made that rule 3 years ago! So next month I'll be out of debt and it's gonna feel amazing. |

I lived through my first week! 11 and 12 hour workdays, plus the commute out to the burbs is a little rough. I am in heaven, though. The set is the size of 3 football fields and it's all Blythe scale. I'm learning new ways to craft tiny things. Right now I'm in armatures and my main task is making her freakishly long delicate hands. I watched the samples on Friday, and they've got the fingers linking together, twiddling and shuffling around- makes me nervous about my craftsmanship! This is really fun but I hope I can transfer to costuming at some point because that's where my heart seems to be right now. I love everything I'm learning. I'm thinking of how I might use these methods in the Blythe world. |

| New Kana Momoko |

New Kana Momoko Originally uploaded by discominx.
I got my Kana Momoko last month but I never took any pics. I played with her and stared at her a ton, though! I made this little Skipper dress for Blythe, but thought it was cute on her. I did start to make her a dress of her own that was kind of inspired by ther stock outfit, but I need to finish it. She is the best Mokoko ever, in my oppinion. I might sell my Mamemomoko because I haven't had time to give her attention and I'm not sure I will with Pip Squeak, the Moofs, Peteena and now Kana... |

| Peteena outfit |

Peteena outfit Originally uploaded by discominx.
This set is gonna go on eBay as soon as I can figure out how to take decent photos of it. The blue background was not a good idea- I just grabbed the one solid that was ironed out. I don't know how much of a demand there is for Peteena outfits, but I'm gonna give it a shot. |

| Sewing for Peteena |

Sewing for Peteena Originally uploaded by discominx.
I need to accept the fact that whenever I set out to make something for dolls I NEVER make what I planned. Things pretty much end up with a life of their own, going in a completely different direction. I cut out about 6 blythe dresses with the intention of selling them, but the first one turned into the beginning of a new wardrobe for Peteena! Now all these cut out pieces are gonna expire before I get to them and I'll end up throwing them out.
I love Peteena! She was in my neglect box for a really long time. I've intended on rerooting her, but for now I'll just keep making her hats. |

| Lucky I look the way I do... |
[Jul. 7th, 2006|02:19 pm] |
...because my beauty inspires art! If I didnt look this way Im sure I wouldnt have a live in dressmaker at my disposal at all times. Sometimes I feel guilty but I realize that life just isnt fair. She has nothing better to do anyway.
I have been somewhat irked about modeling dresses I dont get to keep over the past few months. So I decided I would have a dress of my own made. I chose some pretty blue silk that brings out my eyes, and then I chose the bead colors. I had the dress custom formed to my petite little frame.

While she was making it I got to soak in the tub and relax.

And now it's done! It looks so fabulous on me. Thank you little dressmaker!

| New dolly and some clothes.... |
[Nov. 18th, 2005|07:18 pm] |
Hey there- it's been a while! I just wanted to share my new dolly and the outfit I made her. I got her a while back but just haven't shared. She's the original Huna- I wanted a no-bangs girl for a change. That forehead is a little hard to get used to though, so she immediately inspired me to make this hat with a huge bow on the front! I normally wouldn't do that, but it kinda went with the vintage theme that I started when I chose this vintage green fabric. The coat has bows on the pockets too. I really like her in green. Here's the link to this set on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/24596870@N00/sets/72057594105824626/ Then last night I was fiddling around with felt and ended up making this EASY cape and boot set for Suna:
I was glad I found a use for the mohair I bought by mistake ages ago. It gives the outfit a nice little fuzz factor, I think. ( Read more... ) |

| New Kimono! |
[Jul. 3rd, 2005|07:23 pm] |
( Read more... ) I just received this today in a little Moof order. I feel very badly that I can't get pics that do this Kimono justice! The print of the fabric drives me NUTS, but it's actually an eyelet with sweet decorative stitching and little holes that you can't see in the pics. I can't stop staring at it. The contrasting texture of the sash, with the pop of green makes my eyes so happy. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to buy the other two when I order Huna as soon as possible. |

| Cute beaded dress! |
[Jun. 7th, 2005|04:47 pm] |
I finnished this beaded dress a few weeks ago, and just finally got around to photographing it. It's a shame I don't know how to take pics! I made it with the idea of eBaying it, but I still haven't decided if I want to keep it.
